“Aviron’s low-impact workouts are perfect for active recovery, even for a runner like me. These sessions have massively improved my overall fitness and endurance without straining my joints.”

“I decided on Aviron mainly for the games in hopes that my older teen would engage. I had no desire to play with others and definitely not a game person.

In true Gen X adhd fashion, I ended up loving the variety Aviron has to offer. Sometimes I’m totally into games and working out with others, going hardcore in structured workouts or leisurely working out to the latest episode of Reacher.”

Things to know

While it is a good machine here's a few things I wish I was told prior to buying. This thing needs an electrical outlet to be able to change resistance levels. The app ONLY works for IOS. If you choose to save a little money buying the one without the touch screen make sure you have an IPad because nothing else will work. The seat is a little firm and I'm not sure if the cloud seat is any softer but I will probably see soon.

Aviron bike

I absolutely love my Aviron bike, this bike motivated me to restart biking and doing exercise. The games and group workout are fun. I would buy more Aviron devices as soon as I have room for them.

It has potential

It's a lot harder to plank 8" off the ground so this is a bit too intense for us. At our age, we've had to stop and let our pulled muscles heal. The games are a great concept, though, and we expect we will gradually use it more and more. It is disappointing that it only works on Apple devices. We did have an old iPad from work that I was able to get going. But then we couldn't run the games in portrait - even though that's the only way the device fits into the planker. Hopefully Aviron ports the games to Android in the future and supports both orientations. The other challenge is that the planker slides all over on our wood floors and vinyl floors. Carpet is better but we don't have much of that. Ended up getting a soft rubber mat to reduce the sliding. It would be better if the planker ball was made of a material that grips the floor.

Great Machine, Great programming, could use some tweaks

Let me first start with saying the apparent quality of build for this treadmill is fantastic. I have owned one other treadmill before and comparing them this is much better built and looks great. I am 6 foot 3 and in the past I have had problems with my feet hitting the shroud in the front of treadmills, and with the shorter belt this was my biggest concern when purchasing this but it is not an issue at all,. Plenty of room. I will, say that the width between the bars could be a bit wider. With broad shoulders I find that when walking my wrist will sometimes hit the corner of the support arm which is always a concern while wearing an apple watch. As far as functionality I have no complaints. The motor has plenty of power even for my 300 pounds. One thing that could be improved on is if there were an ability to quickly adjust the speed and incline. There are 3 presets but they are not programmable so it is often a little slow to switch from a walk to jog or run. maybe a quick bar on the screen similar to the resistance change on their rowers. As for the software and gaming I am impressed. The games are decent and can be very entertaining and distracting to the work you are putting in. I often find myself so immersed in the game I don't even realize that I have been working out for an hour. More games would be an improvement but I'm sure it is challenging. I really like the power play and the guided workouts. Again they are distracting to the amount of work they require and they also can target specific goals while creating a sense of entertainment. The my apps section is great! This is the main reason I went with this brand. the ability to watch my content without having a subscription to the equipment. My only wish here is that you could change between apps without ending your workout. I will often watch some you tube videos, maybe a few tik tok videos, and then go to Netflix or you tube tv. Each time you switch it ends your workout and you have to start a new set of metrics. Being that they are all viewing content It makes more sense to me to have one workout within the my apps group instead of a different one for each. Connectivity to external devices is the biggest issue i have run into. As an apple watch wearer, I find it a pain to have to go to treadmill and pair my watch then to my phone, open the Aviron app and click pair there, and then go to my watch to activate it. After all of those steps the connection is successful about 60% of the time, the other 40% I have to repeat the process again and it usually works. I also find that occasionally ~25% of the time my watch loses connection halfway through the workout anyway. Because of this I choose to not connect my watch anymore and just start an Apple fitness open goal workout at the same time. This allows your watch to record the workout and stats and the Aviron equipment to record all of the details. the only negative to this that I see is not being able to view your heartrate on screen. The achievements and goals for the personal profile such as the bronze, silver and gold monthly challenges are great....as long as you don't own multiple pieces of Aviron equipment. I have a Rower, bike and treadmill and it is actually discouraging that this particular "competition" is limited to each piece of equipment. I have added friends in the community but I like to change things up and use different equipment each day. This makes it hard to measure up with people who only have 1 piece of equipment. If they workout 3 days a week and only have 1 piece of equipment they will achieve higher levels than I do working out 6 days a week but switching the equipment I use each day. This is frustrating because it is difficult to even achieve the bronze level for each where I would be getting to the gold level with one piece of equipment. In a category like this why can you not just make this based on total wattage output cumulative of your profile. That would allow people who use more than 1 Aviron product to compare better with those who don't Lastly, Customer service. With each piece of equipment I had some minor issue where I needed help from customer service. Aviron shines here and its not even close. When you call you actually get to talk to a live person. They are courteous, helpful and follow through. A couple software issues and a couple hardware issues, in each case they were able to determine the problem and give me the information to overcome the issue. They told me over the phone what needed to be done, then followed it up with an email explaining the process along with step by step videos. I have not had this kind of commitment to customer service in decades. Thank you Aviron for bringing this lost art back to your customers!
