Best Workout In One Machine

I've never owned a rowing machine before, but I've been involved in sports and working out all my life. I'm in my mid 40's, overweight and have ankle and knee issues from basketball and military service. The "normal sports" I've done in the past aren't good for my joints - basketball, treadmill, racquetball, tennis, football, running, etc. Also, although those exercises/sports have helped my not to gain more weight, they really haven't helped me to lose weight. I started looking into rowing and I got really excited about the possibilities - low impact, engages 85% of your muscles, burns lots of calories, etc. I was sold. Now the question - which machine? I researched so many - low priced ones (under $500), Concept 2, water rowers and more expensive rowers with workout, competition and games. The Aviron Rower had fantastic reviews and great features. I really liked the idea of competition! I knew, with all the features it had, that I wouldn't get "bored" of it and give up on it. And that's what I wanted - a long term solution to get me in better shape, that I would stick with and be excited about. I've now had it for almost 3 months. I am still just as excited about it as I was on day 1. I look forward to rowing on it and do so about 3 out of every 4 days. I've lost about 14 lbs so far and have more energy. My arms and legs are toner than before and my back is getting stronger. As I look at my stats over the last 3 months, I've made great gains! I thoroughly enjoy the challenges every month and conquering them as quickly as possible. I enjoy the different game workouts and challenging myself with the different harder HIIT workouts. My three favorite parts about having this rower, are rowing with others competitively, trying to climb the leaderboard and the extremely encouraging online community. I literally have nothing bad to say about this rower. It's literally the best purchase I've made for exercise equipment. My family likes it and is getting involved too! It's more money than I originally intended to spend on a rower, but it's worth three times the price, if you ask me. It's very high quality and very sturdy! I truly think I could use it the rest of my life!

Great Machine

Received in a very reasonable time and after the EASY set up was very pleased with the operation and use of the Rower. Only problem experienced was the login on occasion... special access codes to email... blah blah, but all is well.

Faith in the future

With new tech, and each individual user's opinion on what is best, comes a variety of never-ending tweaks for performance and user interface ease-of-use. I say 4/5 because things like this will only improve as more data is streamlined, games culled, new systems for metrics implemented, etc. With that said, the support team has been helpful and nice, the dev team consistent in updates and new features, and the community is socially growing in their encouragement, helpfulness, and light-hearted fun, which will only streamline and solidify in time. the machine itself seems sturdy and the brains are equipped to be updated, (much like a smartphone), which gives me confidence that this machine will not become outdated within the decade (I hope). I also hope if a new screen is made available for a new version of immersion with 8k 3d graphics 10 years from now, that my machine will be sturdy enough to only need to replace the screen. It seems built to last for the future and is most responsible economically and environmentally for the end user. I have faith in the future of Avrion, so long as the founders and owners do not sell out their company, but genuinely believe with conviction and investment to be a forerunner of connecting fitness and fun in the future. I hope the company will flourish, as they seem like nice people. I hope they continue to create the best experiences to engage the amateur who is on the fringe for exercising but needs a bit more interactive experience to stay motivated (like me). I also hope they one day lease out game devs to make more unique games, a more cohesive and canonical universe, and maybe one day with enough subscribers, an app store to pick and choose your own games, customize/build your own workouts, racing your own ghost (or that of another user on the same machine), etc. Maybe even lease real titles? this could be big! I'd love to play a version of donkey kong classic or Tekken fighter with a row machine! haha It all depends on the vision of the company, and our faith as customers in their future.

Love this machine

I had a spinal fusion in 2019 and since that time have tried to keep my cardio workouts low impact. I have a treadmill and an elliptical but arthritis in my knees occasionally flairs up after using those. I had used rowers before but not often. Knowing that I most likely didn't have the correct form, I wanted a rowing machine that had different training options. I loved that this one has video games, and streaming services and you could do virtual rows and competitions with other people but I really liked the fact that you could access different training that could help you learn to row properly. I love that I do get a full body workout. I have had my rower since April 2022. I have found the 8 week training program a fantastic way to get the proper form and build strength, endurance and confidence with rowing. I looked at a wide variety of rowing options and not until I watched a comparison of another brand of rower did I even find out about the aviron, but am so glad I did. It's worth every penny.

Love my Aviron!

I love my Aviron rower! The one regret I have is that I haven’t been able to row every day due to long work days and being out of town when I’m not working. I’m still kind of new at it, but expecting to be rowing with it for a long time. Thanks Andy for such a great piece of equipment!
